Evans Marching bass drumheads produce a bright, focused, and full tone with a single ply or 10mil film (MX1) or 2-plies of 7.5mil film (MX2). The MX series contains a unique tone damping system that can be manipulated by applying the included felt arcs to enhance articulation and focus low end for both indoor and outdoor presentation.
Applying this system creates almost endless possibilities to alter the characteristics of the sound; from dark to bright and from a long smooth duration to a short and more percussive kind of sound.
The same system can be used to balance your set of tenor drums; a standard head and damping system always tend to be a compromise, as a set of different sized drums require an individual approach for each drum.
